DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 – Your trip begins with an early morning departure from Rochester, New York and traveling east into the state of Massachusetts. Continuing north into Maine, you will arrive at the Hampton Inn in Portland, Maine late in the afternoon. Dinner is "on your own" this evening at one of the restaurants near the hotel.

Day 2 – Following breakfast you will depart Portland and travel north to Houlton, Maine where you will cross customs into New Brunswick, Canada. Overnight accommodations will be in Fredericton at the Best Western Plus Hotel. Dinner is included tonight. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 3 - After breakfast and hotel check-out you will travel to the Hopewell Rocks to see the amazing Flower Pot Rocks and observe the incredible high tides of the Bay of Fundy. Luncheon is included here. Next it's on to Moncton to visit Magnetic Hill before traveling across the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island. Accommodations for the next two nights will be at the downtown Charlottetown Inn and Conference Center. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 4 – Today includes a guided tour of Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province including a visit to Green Gables farmhouse, the setting for the famous novel Anne of Green Gables. Traveling the north shore of the island you will visit North Rustico and visit the National Park of Prince Edward Island. A traditional Lobster Luncheon is planned. No trip to PEI is complete without a stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company for shopping and sampling! (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 5 – This morning you will ferry from Wood Island, PEI to Caribou, Nova Scotia. Traveling through the heart of Nova Scotia, across the Canso Causeway and onto Cape Breton Island you will stop in Baddeck to visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to learn of the life of the famous inventor, teacher and humanitarian who spent his summer's here. Accommodations for the next two nights will be at the Cambridge Suites Hotel in Sydney. Dinner will be at the hotel tonight. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 6 – After breakfast travel to St. Ann's to visit the Great Hall of the Clans Museum and the Gaelic College Craft Center located in the heart of Cape Breton's Scottish community. Continue on the Cabot Trail often called "the Scotland of North America". Enjoy the beautiful scenery and quaint fishing villages stopping at Cheticamp famous for its hooked rugs and local crafts. (Breakfast)

Day 7 - Departing Cape Breton Island this morning you will travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia's capital city where you will stay for two nights at Hampton Inn & Suites in Dartmouth. A guided city tour is planned including the Public Gardens, the harbor area and the Citadel. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 8 – Following breakfast you will travel to the picturesque fishing village of Peggy's Cove to view the famous lighthouse perched on a massive granite ledge (one of the most photographed places in the world) and fisherman's memorial. This location is a great place to purchase take home gifts and souvenirs. Upon return to Halifax the remainder of the afternoon and evening are at leisure for you to explore and enjoy the city, shop, visit a museum and have a meal at one of the local restaurants. (Breakfast)

Day 9 – Today you depart Halifax and travel the Evangeline Trail through the heart of the Annapolis Valley to the Grand Pre National Historic Site. This is a memorial to the Acadians and the scene of Longfellow's narrative poem "Evangeline". At Annapolis Royal you will visit the site of the first permanent settlement in Canada at Port Royal National Historic Site. Accommodations tonight will be at The Pine's Resort overlooking the Bay of Fundy. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 10 – This morning you will depart Nova Scotia by boarding the ferry that crosses the Bay of Fundy to Saint John, New Brunswick. Upon arrival in Saint John there will be a guided city tour before checking into to the waterfront Hilton for one night. (Shipboard food coupon will be provided)

Day 11 – After breakfast depart Saint John and travel to St. Stephen, New Brunswick and cross customs into the USA at Calais, Maine. Continuing south in Maine you will arrive in Portland in the late afternoon. Overnight accommodations will be at the Marriott Portland at Sable Oaks in South Portland. A special "farewell dinner" is planned for this evening. (Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 12 - Today you will travel from Portland through Massachusetts and into New York State en route to Rochester, arriving in the late afternoon filled with wonderful travel memories! (Breakfast)

PASSENGERS ON THIS TRIP MUST CARRY PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP FOR TRAVEL INTO CANADA. THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION ARE A VALID PASSPORT OR AN ENHANCED DRIVER'S LICENSE. TRAVELERS ARE PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING AND CARRYING THE CORRECT DOCUMENTS. ANY PASSENGER WITH A CRIMINAL CONFICTION RECORD WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY INTO CANADA

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT - A $200.00 per person deposit must accompany your reservation. This includes a $25.00 per person non-refundable processing fee in the event of cancellation. Final payment is due FRIDAY, AUGUST 3, 2018.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY - A full refund will be given (less the non-refundable processing fee) for cancellations received prior to the final payment date. Cancellations received after the final payment date will be subject to the following penalties:

Up to 62 days prior to departure..........................................Processing Fee
61 - 45 days prior to departure....................................25% of the trip total
44 - 30 days prior to departure....................................50% of the trip total
29 - 15 days prior to departure.................................... 75% of the trip total
14 days - day of departure or no show.........................................No refund

INSURANCE - Purchase of travel insurance for cancellation/interruption is not required, but is highly recommended to protect your travel investment, and is available at an additional cost. Should you wish to receive an insurance form application, please contact the DayTours office at 585-385-0670.
