ITINERARY - MACKINAC ISLAND, MICHIGAN

Day 1 (Dinner included)
Departing early we will travel west through the Province of Ontario (PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED AT THE BORDER) en route to the quaint Bavarian community of Frankenmuth, Michigan. Overnight accommodations will be at the centrally located Bavarian Inn Lodge, complete with three indoor swimming pools! Tonight you will feast on a famous Frankenmuth style "all you can eat" dinner featuring chicken and sauerbraten. This evening we will visit Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, the world's largest Christmas store.

Day 2 (Breakfast and Dinner included)
After a German buffet breakfast you will depart for a brief tour of Frankenmuth followed by an opportunity to browse in the village shops. Departing Frankenmuth and traveling north we will stop to visit The Cross in the Woods, said to be the world's largest crucifix and made from one giant California redwood tree. Upon arrival in Mackinaw City we will board the ferry for the 20 minute ride to Mackinac Island. Home for the next two nights will be the Island's oldest hotel, The Island House. Dinner tonight will be at the hotel.

Day 3 (Breakfast and Lunch included)
Following breakfast we'll tour the island via "the surrey with the fringe on top". Great photo opportunities as you view the Governor's Mansion, Arch Rock, Skull Cave, Fort Mackinac and the Grand Hotel. Luncheon today will be the Grand Buffet at the exquisite Grand Hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure...rent a bicycle and go exploring, tour the historic fort, visit the Butterfly House...and be sure to sample some of the famous homemade fudge!

Day 4 (Breakfast and Dinner included)
After breakfast and hotel check-out you will depart Mackinac Island and ferry to St. Ignace on the Upper Peninsula .You will travel across the mighty Mackinac Bridge that connects the upper and Lower Peninsula of the state. Today you will lunch on your own before visiting the unique "Call of the Wild Museum" in Gaylord. Tonight you will have a unique experience at the Thunder Bay Resort in Hillman where you will overnight, take a wagon ride to view an elk herd and enjoy a dinner prepared on an authentic wood stove.

Day 5 (Breakfast and Picnic Lunch included)
Following breakfast you will depart Thunder Bay Resort and begin your journey home. We will stop for a picnic lunch en route and anticipate a late afternoon arrival in Rochester, NY.

PASSENGERS ON THIS TRIP MUST CARRY PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP FOR TRAVEL INTO CANADA. PASSENGERS WITH A CRIMINAL CONVICTION RECORD WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY IN TO CANADA.

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT - A $150.00 per person deposit must accompany your reservation. This includes a $25.00 per person non-refundable processing fee in the event of cancellation. Final payment is due FRIDAY, JUNE 1, 2018.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY - A full refund will be given (less the non-refundable processing fee) for cancellations received prior to the final payment date. Cancellations received after the final payment date will be subject to the following penalties:


Up to 46 days prior to departure...............................................Full refund                     
45 - 30 days prior to departure....................................25% of the trip total
29 - 15 days prior to departure....................................50% of the trip total
14 - 7 days prior to departure..................................... 75% of the trip total
6 days - day of departure or no show..........................................No refund

INSURANCE - Purchase of travel insurance for cancellation/interruption is not required, but is highly recommended to protect your travel investment, and is available at an additional cost. Should you wish to receive an insurance form application, please contact the DayTours office.
